Nutrition is a study and application of the relationship between foods and health. The Department of Nutrition and Health Sciences, one of the three programs in the School of Healthcare Management at Kainan University, is designed to train the next generation of nutrition scientists.

The Master Program in the School of Healthcare Management was established in 2017. The educational goal of the Program is to foster candidates not only to possess scientific spirit and enthusiasm for service, but also to specialize in the healthcare area. Meanwhile, the Program is to nourish candidates’ abilities to accomplish four core competencies, that is, healthcare management, auxiliary healing technology, food safety, and research.
The unique features of the Program:
1. All full-time professors have held doctorate degrees;
2. The curriculum design emphasizes both theorical and practical techniques. A total of 30 credits (including 6 compulsory and 24 elective credits) are required to complete the program; a flexible schedule allows students to accomplish the studies efficiently by undertaking classes on 2 days out of a week
3. Professional training space and research facilities are well-equipped, including biological laboratory, chemical laboratory, biotechnology laboratory, nutrition laboratory, nutrition consultation room, health promotion center - LOHAS hall, health promotion center - health garden, music therapy classrooms, Resident Care Attendant(RCA) training classroom for the national examination, health-cooking classrooms, therapeutic gardens, and the simulation classroom for health industry situational.
4. Research fields of the Program are various and mainly focused on the field of horticultural therapy, music therapy, aromatherapy, traditional Chinese medicine, dietary design, health industry management, and etc.
